Installation
The GitHub and Chrome Web Store builds provide the same extension features under the same GPL-3.0 license.
Download the latest ZIP, optionally verify it with the SHA-256 file, extract it, and choose “Load unpacked” on Chrome's extensions page.
Download Latest ReleaseInstall directly from the official store and let Chrome manage future updates without manual downloads or extension reloads.
Install from Chrome Web StoreMost users only need the ZIP. The `.sha256` file is not an installer. To verify download integrity, place both files in one folder and run:
Get-FileHash .\gpt-knowledge-base-1.3.8.zip -Algorithm SHA256
Compare the result with the value in the `.sha256` file. Continue only when they match; otherwise download the files again.
Product capabilities
Preserve roles, sequence, and recognizable content structure so valuable conversations can become reliable inputs for retrieval and RAG workflows.
Automatically update the conversation currently open on a supported AI platform without proactively reading historical conversation lists.
Distinguish user, assistant, and thinking content while rendering Markdown, code, tables, citations, and LaTeX formulas.
Group conversations by platform, combine browser backups with local archives and user-selected external sources, and keep the source clearly identified.
Export individual or selected conversations as JSON, Markdown, or HTML, including merged-file and per-conversation ZIP options.
Workflow
The extension identifies the supported platform and continually saves the messages loaded in the open conversation.
Browse backups from different platforms, inspect roles, ordering, formatting, and source metadata, and enable local archiving when needed.
Choose conversations worth preserving and export them as traceable source material for your knowledge workflow.
Privacy by design
The extension processes only conversation information already presented in the currently open page and does not proactively fetch account history.
Backups stay in local browser storage; when Archive locally is enabled, they are also written to the user-authorized local folder.
You can pause live backup, disable local archiving, export selected conversations, or clear local data at any time.
Only recognizable text and structure are backed up. Save images, video, audio, attachments, and generated files separately.
